Fences by August Wilson pt.4

Today we read scene 4 of fences. This scene had more of Gabriel in it than the other ones. This scene also talked about how Lyons was trying to pay troy his $10 back but troy wouldn't take the money to teach him a lesson. The lesson was a man doesn't borrow money from anyone. He also didn't want the money because he doesn't have a job meaning he got the money from Bonnie(Lyons girlfriend). We also took a quiz on direct and indirect characterization and after that we did a steal chart on rose.

Yesterday we learned when you put in the effort you are guaranteed to get better results rather than not putting in the effort. The speaker talked about how being smart is overrated, and how being talented is overrated. He asked a  question  that had me thinking. He asked, “how many people you know that are very talented but they're not doing anything to the level that they should with the natural talent they have?” He also talked about how he applied effort to his daily life.
